My recipe for steak: get a nice prime cut of beef like ribeye or ny strip, set your electric stove top on med low heat and put the steak in the pan right out of the freezer for about 48 seconds. Finish it off in the m'wave (microwave) at 80% power for exactly 11 minutes and 45 seconds. Take steak out and cover with ketchup, yellow mustard, and Kraft Parmesan cheese to taste. Bon appetit

I need to start cooking more. It's a good skill to have, healthier than eating out, and less expensive

OP, do you prefer a Bone In Ribeye or a Boneless Ribeye? I used to be a boneless man, but the bone in Ribeye is my new thing. I feel like it cooks better. What do you think?

Fun steak I had when visiting my mom in CA: Tomahawk chop is all about looks. Steak I made last night: Nothing fancy, just a boneless ribeye cooked on a cast iron skillet. Kinda overdid one side but still good medium rare overall.

sorry i didnt take pics after i cooked it since it went directly into my mouth i cooked it a bit longer in the cast iron, no oven treatment. let it sit for ~10 minutes afterwards under tinfoil to rest. Was pretty much perfect. broccoli and carrots on the side. 9/10 will do again.

Enfield posted:heres a steak i made Blade steak right? You can tell by that line of sinew going straight through the center. It's an awesome cut of meat for the money, and if people can cook it properly like you did, it seems stupid to pay 3x as much for the expensive cuts. You can get it without the sinew too: flat iron steak.

You American's know your steak, I'll give you that. I'm an Aussie. Best steak I ever had was at Abe and Louies in Boston. Don't miss the weather, but I still miss that place. Anyone heard of it? (Abe's not Boston.)
