I like the idea a lot, the more I think about it.

The rookie mini camp is fun to follow along on Twitter, but I question how useful it actually is. At best, you start hearing some buzz about an UDFA who then disappears completely when training camp begins. The stuff Gase has planned seems like a potentially more productive use of the limited time teams are allotted to spend with their rookies.

I also like that this is evidence that Gase isn't afraid to challenge conventional wisdom and approach things from a new perspective.
