Farmer Crack-rear end posted:Who would the insurance pay out to, the bank or the homeowner? If it's the latter they could just flip the bird to the bank and deliberately default on the mortgage, couldn't they? In most of Canada mortgages are full recourse; no handing the bank the keys and giving them the finger. Except for Alberta. So ya expect a lot of people walking away from their mortgages.

Reverse Centaur posted:They'll just go to Toronto instead. Toronto is the black hole that is swallowing this country. Eventually 35 million people are all going to be stuck on the 400/401 trying to get their rear end to work. Except for Vancouver, that's going to be 100% populated by realtors playing musical empty houses with the Chinese.

The entire country is probably going to have fire bans and possibly vehicle bans in the back country by June. IDK if they'll outright ban going into the woods all together. Never seen that before in my life

I said the entire country. Everything from Halifax to Vancouver is super dry. We have a big rear end fire on the MB/ON border right now.

Even a super dry forest looks pretty until someone drops a cig or a horse shoe sparks against a rock. Then it's 6 weeks of But ya the actual coasts might be OK because out there abnormally dry is still just this side of drowning from taking a deep breath.
