Kids make bad decisions all the time. You want to try to keep them from having sex, which can have life-altering consequences, as long as possible. Won't help the boys, though. They will stick their d into anything, anyway, all the time. So I guess I am advocating a double standard for girls, since technically they're the ones who definitely get screwed (swidt?) if there's a pregnancy.

When I had kids I will talk to them about sex in an appropriate way for their developmental stages. When they are young, it's simple, how people show affection with hugs and stuff, which parts of their bodies are private, and I want to avoid them feeling severe body or sex shame because I felt a lot of shame about myself and my body and my filthy wiener feelings. As they get older and we have "the talk" , i want to convey that sex is natural and beautiful and part of God's plan for husbands and wife's to love each other and for making children. When talking about the risks of sex, I want to convey not just the scary STD stuff, but communicate that sex isn't just about physical pleasure, it involves a deep and emotional and spiritual connection, that it involves giving a special part of your soul to another person and that it should be treated as something precious and special. I don't want to "slut shame" my children, but teach them the value of appreciating and cultivating themselves for their future husband or wife, of respecting themselves. I'll teach them that temptation is natural and how to deal with it appropriately. But hey what do I know I'm just a 3 D Flanders

yeah anecdotally to add to that i am city folk and i remember i was in 6th grade i knew one person who pretty much was confirmed to have had sex at my school and that summer i went to visit my midwest side of the family and all my cousins from my same age group (or exact age) as me both male and female were soooo far advanced in terms of actual sex experience. i had barely just learned what blow job really meant and these bitches were trading real world advice on technique and positions and something about the way they were talking about it so casually left no room for doubt that they were bullshitting

The funny thing is that in cultures where they don't have hangups about sex or talking about it to their kids, the kids actually start having sex at a much later age, probably because they have a lot more confidence and agency in their decision. Nobody's telling them they're not allowed to have sex per se, but they are able to communicate to them the potential consequences without having to lie or exaggerate.
