I don't know why everyone keeps comparing this game to Majora's Mask when the main feature of that game was starting time over. It's much more of a Dead Rising.

Incidentally, since I got my copy of the LR OST+ today, here are a few of the songs that we've heard that aren't on the proper OST. A Home Far Away (Dude playing New Bodhum near the clock tower) Ballad of a Vagabond (woman playing way in the back by the clock tower) The Savior's Words (because we needed a christmas mix?????)

The AI sure knows how to have a good time when you are busy dealing with people. It is not as extreme as the ten foot push in FFXII, but these NPCs have a path to break and they don't care what you are doing.

Das ist der Witz.

Just caught up- I didn't think you guys were going to do this game, since it sounded like Artix hated it so much. I think LR is pretty great; my main gripe is that the NPCs talk. too. drat. much. I guess they felt like they needed to "flesh out" these little sidequests, but the dialog is just inane nattering that usually doesn't add anything.

I love the big band remixes. I appreciate that there's another one you have to get in range of as part of the main quest.

They sure like pointing out about income inequality in a series where labor is increasingly in short supply. Good thing the food quest didn't end up becoming like another civet coffee. Where do you get the idea that food sells on tiny margins? I guess the raw stuff would be it, but the prepared foods at my franchise can have anywhere from 50% to 100+% margins.

If you're looking for a game that goes on about food porn, you could do worse than Muramasa: The Demon Blade. Eating food in that game is actually a central mechanic, since in addition to healing you doing so will give you more Spirit. And in turn, Spirit is one of the two currencies necessary to make better swords to keep pace in the game. Basically it's taken to a more deadly extent.

Oh I can't wait for when we get back to the 'magic word'. It is a glorious thing, and the reward is actually pretty drat useful. I liked the food quest when I did it. I did it at night, so I got to see all the pretty Yusnaan lights for the duration.

I sound like a broken record when I bring up Elona+, but among the many things the food in that game could fend off besides hunger, you could also recover stamina, train stats, change height/weight/age, make you anorexic, insane, grow diseased body parts, doom the world to hellfire, etc. Scalding Coffee fucked around with this message at 04:00 on Jun 7, 2016 |

I do love how side quest rewards are just slapped on the quest giver with little to no regard to what they are actually wearing, it hilariously undermines the sometimes serious tone of some of the quests when the quest giver is wearing a wacky top hat or crazy glasses.

So the issue wasn't that you "snuck up on" the flanitors- they get passive when that lady is performing. You can stand right in front of them and even hit them a few times and they won't react. They're just trying to have a good time at a concert, man- why you gotta be harshing their buzz? And yeah, it's time you start using accessories to make all these in-engine cutscenes as stupid as possible.

Maybe the fuzz shouldn't be trying to crash my personal concert. Also just to put a lid on things, you are wasting your breath asking for the attachment system because A) we still have 8 videos to go before we run out the backlog and B) I personally do not give the slightest poo poo about the dress-up systems in this game. Not calling anyone out or anything, just putting it out there. We'll get there in due time, don't push your luck now.

Wait you actually get a garb out of the fortune teller questline? gently caress me, i missed it in my run of the game because i believe at the time i had forgotten all about it and was dealing with the wildlands and it's terrible time gating system thing they have out there. Also it's strange that while i still haven't actually beaten the game, all of the sidequests that have been shown off in the videos so far are the only ones i can really recall off the top of my head whenever i think about Lightning Returns. Except that one with the Dragon you picked up in the 1st or 2nd vid and still haven't done, although that guy is pretty tough for a long while.

What's funny is that Noel legit has a decent character arc, but it requires you to pretend that absolutely nothing from XIII-2 ever happened. Because the second you introduce that "Oh, right. We changed the future like, 10 times," his entire motivation falls apart.
