Sloths have a pretty cool evolutionary niche when you think about it, most other species spend a lot of effort either chasing down it's food or protecting itself from things that want to make it food but sloths managed to find a sweetspot where not a lot of predators have the ability or inclination to prey on them so they just chill with their ultra efficient metabolism eating and sleeping basically 24/7 without a care in the world.
