Lol charter schools and private schools are almost universally worse then public schools. The only ones that are "better" cost 5 figures a year and basically exist as a feeder program for the Ivys. I really doubt this is real unless its some "blue dog" democrat who's entire political life has been "No wait, I'm one of the good ones, please vote for me I also secretly hate minorities"

"Waiting for Superman" was a great litmus test for how easily manipulated people are because a fuckton of critics slobbered all over it while a select minority (people who understand science/math) realized it was a complete shitshow that couldn't withstand the most basic of critiques. You know how charter/private schools have such great test scores? They expel everyone who fails below a certain threshold so their average jumps up, and since its a private institution its 100% legal.

"Little Timmy is trying hard, he's come such a long way."

"Thank you for the $5k a year for the last two years, but Timmy is being expelled since this quarter we need to submit test scores"

"What?! But I've paid so much and he's tried so hard!"

"Your child no longer attends this school please leave before I have security escort you out"

public schools are universally trash too none of that poo poo matters until college but if you got to a private school the ivys want to have you because it means you've got cash

Nope I'm pretty sure its that guy:
Criticism of Congress
Cooper spoke with Harvard Law School professor Lawrence Lessig about the subject of reforming Congress.[32] According to Lessig, Cooper explained that members of Congress were so preoccupied with the question of what they would do after leaving Congress – the most obvious career path being lobbying – that they fell into the habit of thinking about how to serve special interests rather than how to serve the public.[32] According to Lessig, Cooper described Congress as a "Farm League for K Street".[32][33]
In 2011, Cooper said: “Working in this Congress is deeply frustrating; in fact, it's enraging. My colleagues are misbehaving. They're posturing for voters back home. They're taking the cheap political hit instead of studying the problem that's before us.”[34] In the same year, Cooper “called the partisan posturing over the debt ceiling 'an extremely dangerous game of chicken,' and said he’d 'never seen politicians act more irresponsibly than they have been recently,' over the nation’s debt.”[35]

I wonder if a book full of the same edgy political opinions about how the system is all bought and paid for that I've been reading for 20 or 30 years needed to be written by an actual ex-congressman. It is obvious that it had to have been, because who else would be able to have those penetrating, original insights?

Like most of my colleagues, I promise my constituents a lot of stuff I can never deliver. But what the hell? If it makes them happy hearing it, and they’re stupid enough to believe it, shame on them.

Voters claim they want substance and detailed position papers, but what they really crave are cutesy cat videos, celebrity gossip, top 10 lists, reality TV shows, tabloid tripe, and the next f*cking Twitter message.

I worry about our country’s future when critical issues take a backseat to the inane utterings of illiterate athletes and celebrity twits.

It’s far easier than you think to manipulate a nation of naive, self-absorbed sheep who crave instant gratification.

I think there is probably a wide variation in charter schools... the ones the DuPonts send their kids to are not the ones available to you.

Sadly in a way it isn't. To get elected and stay in office you need a ton of money. To get money you have to take bribes contributions and play the game.

Maybe they could put their own personal gain on a back burner for once and serve the public good instead. If 4-5 congresspeople got together and just started putting this stuff on blast on social media with names and everything then people would care maybe but what is this? An anonymous book? 'kay.

If it's so awful then expose it, no this dude just wants to QQ anonymously for $$$ to take advantage of current public sentiment. Piece of poo poo.

this is the real reason charter schools exist: segregate the "bad" students from the "good" ones, and spend more money on the latter.
