I'm sure the guy that couldn't physically or mentally hack it in the eredivisie is going to light up the BPL. I remember that danish oval office on here talking about how he was better than Eriksen a couple of years ago. What a loving joke.

Ziggy Tzardust posted:Lots of places are reporting that West Ham are close to signing notoriously average winger Gokhan Tore for 12 million. I get that he's a Bilic favorite but everything I've seen of him suggests that he's not that great (apart from a couple of decent performances in the Europa league). Valencia can't play on the wing and has forgotten how to play through the middle. Idk if Tore is any good or not, but that'll make 4 players who can fill the 3 positions behind Carroll/Sakho/whoever, which is gonna be important with more European games.

Der Shovel posted:How did it all go so wrong for Shaqiri. I honestly can't understand, a few years ago it seemed like his career was shooting up like a rocket and now he's at Stoke. He was a big fish in a tiny pond until he moved to Bayern, couldn't really deal with that and now he's pretty much found his level I think. His going to Stoke was and is seen as a good move in the Swiss media, and I tend to agree. Hey, at least he gets a chance to play regularly if his lovely fragile body lets him. Shaqiri is also really dumb, has an extremely big ego, and his advisor/manager is literally his even dumber brother, so no wonder his decision-making is a little erratic. Xhaka was much smarter at carving out his career: going to the Bundesliga is the usual first step for talented Swiss youngsters, but you should probably avoid Bayern unless you're the next Messi. Sure, that can go wrong too (ever heard of Nassim Ben-Khalifa? See. And it seems to be happening to Fabian Schär too), but there are many success stories that followed this pattern (Xhaka, Rodriguez, Frei, Sommer, Benaglio, Bürki, Lustenberger, Schwegler...).

Reminder that: Xhaka pushes Walcott against the wall "Theo, how many times did you lose possession after your first touch today?" "Xhaka, I already said sorry to the team and the boss..." "Sometimes sorry isn't enough. Now let me show you why they call me Granit..."
