Hello everybody, some of you are probably proud recipeients of a GED. Some of you may work along side people that only have a GED. But often there is a great debate among what the letters in GED actually stand for. Some folks try to make it sound fancy by calling it a "General Education Diploma" and some comedians have taken to calling it a "Good Enough Diploma" Well my friends, I am here to tell you today, that neither one of those are correct. GED is actually an acronym for "Get Er Done" Hope that helps you folks out.

It stands for "I WOULD just drop out, but my dad/uncle (mom) says I need to graduate high school before I can work for him for the rest of my life", at least in the area I'm from. I guess it's occasionally used for girls who get pregnant and disappear for a while and miss school.

Ged Educated Dummy. I had a friend in high school who was taking AP classes and dropped out her Sr. year due to "drama" (her words, we never knew what she meant) and got her GED. She never went to college and spend the next 10 years working in call centers and fast food restaurants. She got married to some guy who, come to find out, just stopped paying all the bills for some reason. He skipped town and no one heard from him again. She friended me on Facebook a few years ago and it seems she is childless and still single. She posts a lot of "share if you think the Pledge of Allegiance should be said every day in school!" and other Tump supporter garbage.
