I am kind of new to hockeymans, and I'll probably regret asking this, but why all the hate for the Pens and their fans? I see one SC championship eight years ago, and the previous two were considerably longer ago, so it can't be like an anti-Patriots thing where you hate on a team for long term success.

i'm trying to think of if i hate superstars who are highly marketed in other sports, and i don't think i do. mostly just like watching them do badass stuff. not sure why it's different for crosby i might also just be a weird sportsfan, i've actually enjoyed the past few years of cup exchanges between chicago and LA just because the teams have seemed so dominant, it's just impressive to watch and lends itself to good hockey

What about the Kings? They're pretty much all I ever see where I live and they're who I watch until they get eliminated or don't make it in at all. I also think Sid is badass and watch the Pens mainly because of him. Like I said I'm new to this and I'm just trying to figure out how much I am hated in this thread for my allegiances

Yeah, Slava  And even as a noob I can see that the Kings are kind of boring. Although the way they won those series in the 2014 postseason was pretty thrilling (and agonizing at times) But I guess basically they are not cool and good.

The vast majority are non Pens fans and casually hockey fans that are legitimately curious why a team "seems"* to be hated just because of having great exposure, having superstars, and having success. Not sure many Pens fans give half a gently caress what others think of the teams success. *seems because it is internet posters who need something to complain about. Why not complain about a team that is marketed heavily, has talent, and is full of handsome handsome men?  Don't recall ever talking hockey in person and them whining about the Penguins.
