1. slim shady lp 2. marshall mathers lp 3. the rest of them 4. encore and most of the albums near encore MM LP has more notable songs than SS LP, but SS LP is a better album as a whole because it has less subpar songs. The newer albums have poo poo beats. Let's not sugarcoat it, but they are better than the middle albums and have very solid most other things. They also don't resonate with me at all and I don't get why songs like "Rap God" became popular. WatermelonGun posted:the first d12 album was good: I guess "Blow My Buzz" and to a lesser extent "Revelation" probably hold up from their first album, but I'm not entirely convinced anything else would. Well pre dr. dre his stuff was fairly uninteresting so I don't really count those. Marshall Mathers LP is probably his very best. With the Slim Shady LP a close second. Which brings me to what I really want to talk about. The Eminem Show. I've been displeased with albums before. I bought Limp Bizkit's Results May Vary and Insane Clown Posse's The Wraith. But I'm 100% serious in saying that the Eminem Show was the most disappointing album I have ever heard. I think its popularity and positive reviews must have been goodwill left over from the previous two because If anyone other than Em released that poo poo it would instantly have fallen into obscurity where it belongs. Did anybody except Eminem himself want more songs about social responsibility and a parents love for their child? I loving doubt it. It also seemed to mark his first moves towards a more commercially friendly pop sound, which I also deem a huge negative. I completely lost interest in him after that travesty of an album. I did have a friend with no taste who still buys his crap though so I've heard bits of the newer ones too. It was awful, but I fully expected it to be so It wasn't as painful. There was two years though he was like the coolest guy in music so I've gotta give him props for that.
