The theme for this month is insects! Insects are the most diverse group of organisms on earth, with over a million species named and potentially 2-30 million species total.       They also used to get a lot bigger back in the Carboniferous due to higher atmospheric oxygen concentrations    (last two are a diplopod and an arachnid, not an insects, but same phenomenon)

While I don't know the name of the beetle I used as inspiration for the last bugelf, this one is based on mourning cloak, one of my favourite butterflies! Their black-red-purplish velvet wings absorb the light in such a way that it looks like gazing in a soft hole in reality. Old superstition states that it's bad luck if mourning cloak is the first butterfly of the summer you see.

Rushed the coloring but the band-folks were happy as is so it's finally done! Jpeg-compression hosed up the text and brightness for some reason so imagine it being soft and light >_>
