It's not exactly a mystery, kid content tends to do really well on streaming services. Kids are too impatient for television and when raised on an iPad get confused as to why you can't skip or rewind TV shows. And when parents don't have cable then toddlers will watch streaming stuff all day, even if a lot of the kid videos on youtube are pumped out from India or Brazil for easy monitization. This isn't even weirdest youtube phenomenon. There are channels that feature nothing but adults opening up packaged toys and kinder surprise eggs, and they get millions of views. It's the only thing my niece watches on youtube aside from music videos.

Those kinder eggs are the bane of my existence. My kid is autistic and will gleefully watch that (and the freaky-rear end ChuChu TV poo poo) over and over again unless we stop him. I'm guessing it's one part that, one part millions of people in developing countries who want their kids to learn English and don't have cable but have wi-fi or whatever on their phones in the big cities.

My theory is that it's a bunch of bots watching/subscribing to these videos to rake in that sweet, sweet YouTube money for some genius in Asia. Then again I don't know how this poo poo actually works so duuurrrrr

Live with a toddler, he lovvves that song so much. And yes those loving kinder eggs and those videos are evil because the hands are positioned right where a child's are when they are watching the video on a tablet. The worse stuff is poo poo like Hobby Kids TV and those weird rear end videos of adults in spider man, bat man etc costumes revolving around weird bathroom and pregnancy and farting stuff it's very odd and not very cool imo.
