A few months back I re watched the Foreman fight. I know the legend is that he angered Foreman and then let him punch himself out but Ali really did have control of that fight from the beginning. When boxing is called the Sweet Science it's easy to ask how is punching someone is (A) sweet and (B) a science but with Ali it was true. His wit and his intelligence were his greatest weapons. RIP dude.

I wonder where boxing historians put Ali on their list of greats. Joe Louis seems to be Ali's best competition for #1. Tyson was great but he fell apart in a way that Neither Ali or Louis did. Jack Johnson got cheated out of some level of greatness simply because the times weren't right for it.

Bruce Lee definitely fits in the discussion of guys who made their sport more popular than it was before. Babe Ruth, Micheal Jordan, Vince Lombardi, Muhammad Ali are all on that list as well.
