One of my best friends watches anime. Not nearly on the level of "EAt Fresh," but more than the "Oh I watch it occasionally if there's nothing on" She's otherwise really cool. High school cheerleader, cool drinking buddy, super popular etc. She tried to convince me anime is good. Showed me the first few episodes of Full Metal Alchemist. It's like, there's these two dead kids, and their souls occupy like a suit of armor or something, and as far as I could tell this had ABSOLUTELY NO INFLUENCE ON ANY PLOT. I tried, I really tried to see value in it. I'm the kind of guy who can hate something good, but still see the value and appeal in it to others. FMA was garbage. I could barely understand what the characters were, much less who they were or why I should care.
