I still hate my co-worker who I had to go on a business trip with that acted the dick the whole time and felt like he got to pick dinner every night just because the rest of us got to eat lunch during his fancy moon god month and he had been up since sunrise and fasting. rear end in a top hat wouldn't even drink with us in the evenings

The ramada inn perhaps? Its not bad I agree. I even got to eat sausage on the breakfast buffet during ramadan while my idiot co-worker fasted and got super grumpy. I'm surprised the middle east made it this long if they have to fast during the day for an entire month i figure they would all just grow extra extra angry (even more than usual) and kill each other oh wait

I don't think goons could possibly survive if told they couldn't eat when the sun is out Then again I don't think they ever see the sun so maybe it doesn't matter, can any forums imams clear this up for us?

Ramadan is when muslims dont have fun (eat/drink/smoke/gently caress) between sun up and sun down for an entire month, for some reason. I think you get out of it if you're on your period or pregnant so basically its the only time of the year that muslim women get the best deal out of their religion.

Not eating is easy but not drinking is brutal and probably hellish in those desert/jungle countries most muslims live in

You have to make up for missing fast actually... so even pregnant women who can't fast have to pay it back to the moon God.

living in a neighborhood with a lot of people who observe it, but not actually celebrating it

I ate Nandos and drank half a pitcher of their ok sangria tonight as my last meal before taking the plunge. My prognosis is that the hardest thing is actually gonna be waking up at 4 am to eat before dawn. I'm still doing it easy mode because I'm not praying 5 times a day. Privilege checked.

I kind of get all of those except the fasting, they sort of apply to most religions (swap out mecca for some other holy land/place/thing)

even jews allow drinking water during yom kippur. granted, that's a 24-hour fast, and not a sunrise-to-sunset one
