Full information and airing schedule here!
Starting June 14th, all 5 parts will be available on WatchESPN, but lets go by the actual air dates for discussion and what not.

Tons of people are calling this the best thing ESPN has ever done. It even had a limited theatrical release where people spent 8 hours straight watching this documentary. It already has Academy Awards buzz. This is supposed to be amazing and man has the bar been set super high. The guy making this, Ezra Edelman, has been involved in a lot of 30 for 30 stuff as well as Bryant Gumbel's HBO show. So lets all watch together what seems to be the definitive look and closing chapter of Orenthal James Simpson.

If you are wondering why this is big news and already the subject of an FX series, you are probably too young to remember the OJ trial in general. You should really watch it if that is the case, but if you needed more incentive the following things came to national attention as a result of this trial:

24 hour news networks (CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, etc) - Some existed, but weren't really powerful or anything more than a novelty. This trial rocketed them into viable entities.

DNA - This was the first time a ton of people had ever even heard of it and the first high profile trial where it was used/debated.

WTF is a Kardashian - Yes, that name was a household name when Kim was only 14 years old.

Kickoff is in 45 minutes, so until then, what will we compare this too? In other words, what is the best thing ESPN has done?

It's The U, Parts 1 and 2

The best thing ESPN has done up to now is also OJ related. June 17th 1994 is legit art.

I was alive and a news watcher when this was happening and I'm pretty sure I got my entire fill of this story back when it was happening. I'm not sure how anyone can watch EVEN MORE of it. It was everywhere. It was the only thing anyone ever talked about. It was on every single news broadcast/talk show/newspaper headline. It was too much. 1st topic with friends/coworkers was "Did you watch Seinfeld last night?" Then 2 through the rest of the day was "OJ!!!!!" Remember when that plane disappeared and CNN went batshit? That was a blip on the radar compared to OJ coverage.

I am watching this with my wife who knows nothing about OJ except for, "I know the glove didn't fit." and she just knows that because I explained the Seinfeld joke to her. Also she thought he was a basketball player lol.

Really good. They're taking their time and telling the whole story. The first episode is about OJ's early life, time at USC and Buffalo, how he became one of the first black spokespeople in America, his decision to not take part in any kind of racial demonstrations or discussions in the 60's and 70's, the racial tensions in Los Angeles, etc.

It sets the stage for all of the craziness ahead. Waiting until Tuesday is gonna suck.

There was so much awkward in that first part. The weirdest parts were Hertz confessing to stocking their OJ ads with trustworthy whites endorsing OJ, and Nicole Brown going out with a married guy who was sexually violent towards her and her then thinking, "what a great guy".

What was crazy was the cottage industry of celebs that built up around the case. Kato, Judge Ito. These were people everyone in America knew and talked about!
