you know what you hick americans keep forgetting with those dumb arguments like "you could never confiscate all guns anyway" or "having guns is a right and plus I just like how they look"?

just stop selling loving bullets, then your millions of pussy guns are useless in a couple of years and people can stockpile as many as they please

there, I solved the gun crisis

Making bullets is easier than making guns, and gunpowder has lots of legit uses so it can't be banned.

you can 3d print guns nowadays, but can you 3d print bullets?? I don't think so

seriously tho it can be regulated like it is in many other countries. An average person does not need gunpowder, ever.

Regulate gunpowder so that only specialist industries can access it, and presto, no more (cheap) bullets in a couple of years. This might not be an issue for shooting sprees since those guys dont care about cost, but I bet a lot of other gun violence will stop since shooting is just too expensive

Something totally works in countries the size of Rhode Island. Surely it could work just as well for the entire north american continent!

The tears of gun grabbers. So delish.

Lmbo great argument, nevermind that countries like china with >2x the population of the US manage it somehow, or europe which is basically comparable, there is always some special reason why it just wouldnt work in the states, because "this is 'MURICA dammit"

I'm 1000000% behind massively increasing bullet prices because I hardly shoot anymore and I've got enough of a stock pile that I could sell off half it and hopefully retire. While still having enough bullets that during a riot or epidemic or whatever I'd be able to acquire more bullets and boot strap my post apocalypse strategy, or just shoot myself because it wouldn't be worth the effort.

Also just announcing a serious attempt at the legislation would probably have the same effect as actually passing it because everyone with two brain cells to rub together would try to do the same thing I just suggested. Massively spiking demand out of the reach of supply.

*listens for a bit, then slowly shakes head and points at the american flag hanging on the wall*

thats some mighty fine idea you have there. but you forgot something. This is 'murica, my friend.

We should also make gasoline stupidly expensive as well, so as to decrease the number of drunk driving deaths.

lmfbo america has had more gun fatalities than drunk driving fatalities in 2014

but I totally agree, americans need the ability to shoot lead at something just as much as basic transportation, because

If you try to legislate some poo poo people really don't like, you end up with a fight. If that conflict doesn't resolve itself one way or the other the violence spreads and drags other people in. Eventually a victor rolls out of the scuffle or a compromise is reached. It's usually a big numbers game. The more people who give a poo poo, the bigger fight you'll get.

Prohibition went like this. The current drug war is going like this. I'd say the whole American slavery thing also went like this but I'm not super well read on the subject so maybe not. Every time some gun legislation poo poo starts up everyone starts making a big fuss about it, and since the AWB sunset in 2004 it seems that it ends up on the pro gun side more often than the anti gun side. Politicians make some noise but not enough to get anything done. In Britain and Australlia no one was willing to fight hard enough over it so they are where they are.

America is split evenishly along the two big party lines. Close enough that a vote like 55% to 45% is considered a significant landslide in something like a presidential election. Even in the landslidiest of landslides one side usually managed to pick up around a third of the popular vote. One of the parties currently votes pretty hard anti gun control and the other on pro gun control. So if not actually half, close enough that only some whiny ignorant internet pedant trying to poke holes in a reasonable argument would bring it up. Certainly more than enough to let the first point stick.

People in favor of gun control are unwilling to admit this and seem to want to blame anything other than not nearly enough people think like them in order to get what they want.

luckily every time some shooting happens people are a liiittle more willing to enforce stricter legislation

seeing as there have been only 141 mass shooting in america (http://www.gunviolencearchive.org/) you would still need quite a bit more though

so get out there gun owning goons, make america safe again by shooting some innocents! do the lords work and kill for peace and freedom!
