Scorpio is another panic rush job from MS in response to how poorly the Xbone is selling. When released it's going to be overpriced and underwhelming.

I don't understand why MS is releasing a new console when it's clear every game for Xbone will be available on Windows 10. Just release an update for Windows 10 that makes every PC and Xbox, kill the Xbone and call it a day.

From the company that sold you a turd controller and called it elite and priced it like a Bentley's cupholder, I can other gather that something with actual expensive FLOPS hardware is going to cost $899 and be a return to the NeoGeo era of consoles exclusively for that rich poo poo in your class that lived in the 3 storey house backing onto the ravine.

Looks like VR is going to be huge if MS is worried enough to be downplaying the gently caress out of it in the internecine period where they dont want to feed Facebook's Oculus too much of their skin while at the same time not pissing of Satya's darling HoloLens group until they have their own VR pinkeye-vector ready to sell to you.

If Sony sees how the Scorpio reveal is going and decides "me too" with a PS4 Neo in 2017 they're stupid.

It's going to be a long time before 4k is the standard. Broadcasters still mostly show over compressed 720p for their HD channels and ISPs are starting to institute caps because so many people are ditching traditional TV in favor of streaming.

The only way they don't is if they really and truly are prepared to take another 10+ year bath on a gamble that VR might one day hit critical mass and so they want to have a Trojan horse ready for an easy, living room VR box just in case, and oh god they're really going to do that.

Which is why Sony is stupid for wanting to release the PS4 Neo or whatever when they see how bad the Scorpio reveal is already going. It's like your friend getting VD from the town bike then saying "me too!"

There is no market for scorpio. The people that MS was planning on marketing scorpio to are already giving up on the bone and building/buying gaming PCs. The only people left are cheap parents that bought their kid a $199 bone this black friday because the ps4 was $299.
