I figure some IT department has been tasked with buying up every possibility from a list of a thousand so the team doesn't get scooped when it does settle on one it wants to go with. The last thing they want is to decide on "Desert Knights" but be forced to pay some pasty kid from Wisconsin $50,000 for the URL. Yeah this would be my bet as well

Yeah they'll open up for big opponents but let's not pretend they're anywhere close to full for like a Wednesday night game against Winnipeg or something.

I cannot imagine the desire to go to that game was very high.

Plus holiday weekend games like that are always a toss-up. Baseball games seem either completely packed for them or almost totally empty, depending on the area.

Well yeah but Gila River Arena only seats like 18,500. Chase Field's just under 50k if memory serves. 14,000 asses in seats in the first is going to look a lot better than 14,000 asses in the latter. E: mods namechange me to 14,000 Asses pls

Still, I feel like the best candidates for expansion are Hamilton, Seattle, Quebec City, Milwaukee (Wisconsin loving loves hockey, as much as Minnesota does I'd say), and this might seem odd, but Omaha. Population of close to 500,000, and their NCAA team is one of the best attended teams in the NCAA. Dean Blais just left UNO and it sounds like support from the school to the program may be drying up, which would be a real shame. It's a very underrated program.

Yeah, I'm guessing weekday games will look like some of those arenas were a ton of seats are corporately owned and largely sitting empty. I know Devils games have been like this for a while and I'm sure a few others are like that.

The Titans have a fanbase that can be measured in the dozens. E: and yeah the NFL/NHL fanbase overlap isn't particularly huge, but the NFL is a juggernaut in every conceivable way now, and it's not hard to see the Vegas Raiders quickly overshadow the Knights. This will obviously also depend on how well the Knights market themselves too.
