KFC managed to convince the people of Japan that Kentucky fried chicken is the traditional Christmas meal. Now you have to reserve your dinner two months in advance in order to guarantee you'll have KFC on Christmas Day. It's kind of amazing.

The late Emperor Hirohito was a Disney fan. He named his childhood hobbyhorse Snow White, and visited Mickey Mouse at Disneyland during a state trip to the US in 1975: The Emperor received a Mickey watch during the trip and wore it often, even at state functions. When he died, he was buried with it!

The thing about anime was that Osamu Tezuka, the guy who pioneered the Japanese cartoon art style, was heavily influenced by Carl Barks' Donald Duck comics Plus a lot of impressionable young people watched Disney's funny animal cartoons and grew up to be furries What I'm saying is it's Walt Disney's fault we have anime AND furries Nuke Disneyland
