So what the gently caress is #FE anyway, is it just a new Fire Emblem that people are overhpying, or is it something cool.

Also I guess I loved Ogre Battle 64. I keep forgetting they made those.

FFX has one of those plots that sound like a joke when summed up. That last boss is just ridiculous.

A friend of mine played almost all the way to the end of X, waiting for the linear "early part" to end and for the game to finally open up and become a real Final Fantasy.

Nah, I don't care, I just find it funny that something 30 years old and super obscure outside of Japan until a couple of years ago is now suddenly on goons 'one of the good ones' list

Jojo was never that obscure, it's one of the biggest names in shonen and anyone who's even taken a passing glance at anime that wasn't airing on saturday mornings has at least heard of the bad anime it had like 20 years ago. The real problem was that it had a bad anime and bad scanlations so it was tougher to get into than something like Fist of the North Star.

Acting hipstery about knowing Jojo before it was cool is like me saying I played Metal Gear before MGS5.

20XX just kinda feels like you're playing a very bad romhack of Mega Man X a lot of the time. Sure, the basics are there, but the level design is not satisfying at all, and the bosses are kind of a big mess.

The Kins posted:

From the way the developers described it in an interview, a proper English dub would have taken a very long time (a year?) to do, due to the game's whole thing being musical performances (which would need separate English lyrics that fit the meter of the original song), and the developers' insistence that the voice cast should do both the talking and singing parts for their characters.

Those developers are dumb to want that, but voice acting is time-consuming and expensive as heck, so it makes sense to cut it.

I am savescumming my rear end off in XCOM: Enemy Unknown :(

There simply aren't enough missions for me to level up lots of guys. Sometimes a swear an entire moth goes by without any aliens to fight. I can't build more gear without more alloys, and now it's throwing these mechanized units with 30hp and 3 actions per turn at me. What the Christ.

You need more satellites so you can intercept more UFOs/spot more landings/spot more operations. None of those will ping for you if you're not monitoring the countries they happen in, reducing the amount of missions you have access to drastically.

You might also want to do more covert ops, which give you fairly easy but rewarding Exalt missions early on, as well as make it harder for Exalt to gently caress with you in the long run.

If this sort of thing is unclear, it means you probably have a soldier who has the genetic upgrade that lets you see nearby alien units without revealing your position.

And don't feel too bad, I had to restart my first game of Enemy Within pretty early even though I cleared Enemy Unknown with ease. There's more moving parts and the game punishes you for ignoring them.

Little tip: abusing explosives not only prevents you from doing autopsies and can damage ship salvage, but exploding an enemy means you get no fragments from them to use, which is not great if you're low on general resources.

I'm playing right now, and the luckiest poo poo ever just happened to me. I was flanked by several enemies and my best guy, smack dab behind all my other units, was mind controlled. A muton kills this squaddie, causing my sniper to panic and blow off the sectoid commander's head, freeing my guy before he can shoot anyone in the back.

Uh oh. I'm at the end of the month, and India's in the red with panic. Do I hope for the best, or take a gamble and try to raid one of these countries, hoping Exalt's base is there?

I can totally still win the game without India, but I'd rather not have to.

Chryssalids are the loving worst, especially in terror missions. Every stupid civilian is just waiting to turn into a zombie.

On the plus side, they don't use cover and you don't have to care about cover while fighting them, which is fun (until other units show up and murder your out of cover guys).

Battleborn's art design is loving hideous, its like something even dreamworks would be ashamed of. The characters look like trash, like baby's first 3D model or a cartoon that was abandoned before they finished the pilot episode.
Even worse, the characters never shut up, and I hate every loving line spoken. Take the most horrible mascot character you can think of, and then make that ALL of the characters. I muted the game in less than an hour.

Gameplay is pretty dull too, even when you do have teammates. I played the beta and was bored almost immediately. Battleborn is just trash all around. Gearbox needs new management, they really made a mistake thinking Battleborn would be good.

Thing is, this is how I feel about League of Legends, and that game makes millions.
