Schlesische posted:We both know it's Andrei Markov's spot, while Petry is gonna be on the second pairing with Emelin because Beaulieu is definitely not ready to be the #4 defenseman, no it has to be Emelin who brings ABSOLUTELY loving NOTHING TO THE TEAM EXCEPT FOR HITS AND GRIT AND HOLY gently caress I WANT TO KILL BERGEVIN RIGHT NOW. For some weird loving reason (although it's funny as hell), he's rrreeeeaaalllyyyy effective against Milan Lucic

Starsfan posted:There was a narrative when the Flames made their miracle run to the post-season two years ago that they had the best defense group in the league, and somehow the credit spilled over not just to Brodie and Giordano but also all of the useless secondary pieces. Part of that narrative is that Dennis Wideman is a 50 point defenceman. No, Montreal and their fanbase is pretty good at undervaluing their players Heh Heh

El Gallinero Gros posted:He had an exceptional year in his first season in the QMJHL (39-59-98 in 57 games, as a 15-16 year old), started drawing Gretzky comparisons and his other seasons in the Q were good but not great. Got drafted in 2007 by Pittsburgh, but by then his stock had dropped so he went 20th overall instead of first like you might expect somebody drawing those comparisons, struggled like hell in the AHL (38 pts in 124 games for 3 teams), ended up playing in Europe. His family has a p good grocery store chain
