I haven't watched recent seasons so I don't know if they still do this, but one of my favorite things about SVU used to be how if the suspect ever ran, it was always Ice T who caught them. There was even one episode where Ice T was nowhere around, the guy ran, and then a car pulls up out of nowhere in front of the running suspect to stop him and Ice T jumps out and catches him. I could never quite figure out if it was a gag by the writers or if they were trying to show how on-the-ball he was or what.
