If you've got a real hangover no food will help because you'll just puke it up soon anyway. For mild ones though you can't go wrong with grease accompanied by whatever.

I have severely cut back on drinking because any hangover now means I am in complete agony the next day to the point where I can't eat anything. But I have found that eating popcorn and chicken salad sandwiches after I drink severely reduces the likelihood of a nasty hangover happening.

lots of water the night before and tons of greasy food in the morning fixes most things right up except wine. nothing I eat or drink can fix what happens after about 5L of wine. you prepare for death.
