http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p040cvp9/robot-wars-meet-the-house-robots https://twitter.com/UKRobotWars I used to LOVE this show as a kid, and I had no idea they'd bring it back again years later! For those of you unfamiilar with this show, Robot Wars was like WWE for remote-control cars, all the teams who came on we're packing their bots with spinning discs, large pincers, chainsaws, steel blades, and they'd just ram and smash the gently caress out of each other! The show kicked arse, the contestants were awesome (Razer was my personal favourite) and little toys were made out of them. I remembered owning a World Championship VHS set with toys of Razer and Chaos II. I don't think this'd be good enough for TVIV, but goddammit, I'm already feeling pumped for this and I can't loving wait! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJ77e-Uzscs Junior Jr. fucked around with this message at 19:59 on Jul 12, 2016 |

The new Sir KIllalot is a bit weird, now he looks like a Brotherhood of Steel soldier from Fallout.

gemini was a pretty cool bot, it could split in two and flip stuff, though according to the rules if one half of them was immobilised they'd be gone. They did a pinball run and it was amazing! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nauRiyxxAPQ

Wheely Big Cheese was awesome, it had the biggest flipper ever in the show, and the team showed off how good it was against Axe-Awe, in possibly the shortest battle ever. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cvVYzvQQB4&t=148s

Here we go! http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/live/bbctwo Razer's back! I'm already rooting for him! Edit: So Razer took down one bot and lost in the same match. loving lame. Junior Jr. fucked around with this message at 20:13 on Jul 24, 2016 |

So I just lost respect for Razer after the team went loving egocentric and threw themselves in the pit. Now I'm siding with Behemoth. Carbide was killing it in that match, liking that bot already! Junior Jr. fucked around with this message at 20:21 on Jul 24, 2016 |

Good one on Team Behemoth, they wrecked those nerds and their dumb bot.

drat, Carbide is SERIOUSLY killing it today! I'm a little bummed out that Behemoth lost to them but they had a great match, sparks were flying and everything!

Rematch for Behemoth and Carbide, this should be pretty good. Okay, that rematch was really disappointing, Behemoth was mostly immobilised and then they went "gently caress it" into the pit. Junior Jr. fucked around with this message at 20:59 on Jul 24, 2016 |

Okay, end of first show PROS: - Two classic bots, Razer and Behemoth, returned to do battle - The house robots dealt some damage and were great to see again - The newcomers, Terrorhurtz and Carbide gave good first impressions, can't wait to see Carbide in future shows - Some of the matches like Behemoth VS Carbide and Terrorhurtz were pretty good CONS: - The music was a bit lame, the theme song was a bit meh, and no music at all during the matches - Only 1 house robot for a 6-bot match? Weren't there two in the original? Also they didn't do that much action like they used to - Bots getting thrown into the pit felt lame, no smokes or a big pit spotlight - Dara O'Brian is a bit average for a host, doesn't really hype up the show that much like Craig did - Team Razer and Behemoth both lost by THROWING THEMSELVES INTO THE PIT, what the gently caress!? Overall, the new show felt a bit average, some good moments here and there, but could've been a lot better. Junior Jr. fucked around with this message at 21:13 on Jul 24, 2016 |
