shoophobo posted:Name one thing that is not "hhuurrr they know what porn I look up" It randomly rolls back my AMD drivers to an incompatible version without asking or telling me it's doing it. Then it gets stuck in a boot loop unless I boot into safe mode, uninstall the incompatible drivers, reinstall a working driver, reboot, uninstall those drivers because they're not the newest ones and then reinstall the newest drivers and reboot again. Also, booting seriously takes like 10 minutes each time so that's like 30 minutes gone each time it happens.

I thought long and hard for months about upgrading from 8.1 to 10 and I finally decided to skip it. My laptop won't benefit from the new directx and I don't care for any of the new features like cortana or edge. I was almost certain to run into driver problems and losing control over windows update is just a terrible idea.

once a day my laptop reboots on its own, then goes through a 35 minute reboot process where Windows 10 installs updates, then the updates fail, then it rolls back. I don't know why the gently caress it does this but it recently happened 4 pages into a paper I was writing for school. e: this sucked because I drank 4 beers and did two shots lamenting my lost paper and ended up submitting six pages of word salad and got a 81 on it because of "solid ideas and research but overall you had coherency issues"

I tried to start downloading it tonight before the midnight deadline, but it must not have made it in time. I had an error and needed to reboot and when I tried install it I was told the deadline was passed so I guess that ship has sailed. Maybe for the best. I have some old software and hardware I never got around to installing or reinstalling (Mostly from the XP era) and/or that I'm not sure how well it plays with Windows 10. I bought Win8 around the time it came out when I bought my current PC, so when Win8.1 support finally ends, I'll probably be on the verge of getting a new computer with Windows 10 v2.
