Good Morning!
Sunday Morning!
I would like to see the Pagemaster remaked

get a new hot rising child star, maybe like Millie Bobby Brown of Stranger Things fame as a female recast to Culkin's character

itll be cgi ofc, everyone loves cgi these days, cgi pirate book, cgi fantasy book, cgi horror book

Christopher Lloyd can reprise his role as the Librarian for a nostalgia throwback, and its almost like a sequel except not really because CL is just handing the baton of imagination to Millie.

Wikipedia posted:

Triumph of the Will (German: Triumph des Willens) is a 1935 German propaganda film directed, produced, edited, and co-written by Leni Riefenstahl. It chronicles the 1934 Nazi Party Congress in Nuremberg, which was attended by more than 700,000 Nazi supporters.[1] The film contains excerpts from speeches given by Nazi leaders at the Congress, including Adolf Hitler, Rudolf Hess, and Julius Streicher, interspersed with footage of massed Sturmabteilung and Schutzstaffel troops and public reaction. Hitler commissioned the film and served as an unofficial executive producer; his name appears in the opening titles. The film's overriding theme is the return of Germany as a great power, with Hitler as the leader who will bring glory to the nation. Because the film was made after the 1934 Night of the Long Knives (on June 30) many prominent Sturmabteilung (SA) members are absent—they were murdered in that Party purge, organized and orchestrated by Hitler to replace the SA with the Schutzstaffel (SS) as his main paramilitary force.

I have had an idea in my head to turn American Psycho into a television series. Season one would mostly be the plot of the book/movie and take place in the mid to late eighties, however each seasons after that deal with patrick bateman as he murders his way through the ninetes, post 9/11 and recession era America. all the way through until today where the series will end.

This would be loving hilarious, because so many people are goddamn stupid and actually think that D-FENS is the hardworking hero of that story when he's actually just a goddamn psychopath.

Swap it out with a muslim and every single one of those people would instantly turn into giant crybabies saying how disgusting it is that they made a film that glorifies terrorism.

Falling Down works because D-Fens isn't some sort of anti-hero, just a broken hosed up individual whos violent out bursts result in zero catharsis. Frankly I don't think hollywood could pull this off again.

honestly i dont think they knew exactly what they were trying to do with the film, but its just so well made that it works with a lot of readings. like i bet they added the bit with the nazi in later because they realized "oh poo poo this is a straight up white power movie isnt it"

At my school this one kid Ian would lend out the VHS copy of falling down if someone asked for it, only the tape wasn't falling down, it was Buttslammers 4. "Falling down"basically became slang for Porn or sex. I really wanted to watch falling down though because it looked pretty good, but somehow he didn't actually own the move, just the box? What a world.

No, they shouldn't remake it.

"Falling Down" worked because it came out in an era where all the conceptual wheels of the American dream really began to fall off and reveal the ugly rust on the axles. The alienation of D-Fens and the seeming sense of betrayal he felt about society was something that the audience could relate to, especially in the post-Reagan, post-Cold War period of the early 1990s when all the doubts and fears started to creep in (since we no longer had the Soviet Union and the political threat of immediate nuclear annihilation to test ourselves against). Now, we've become inured to this bullshit in this bullshit nation we call America and there's nothing terribly impacting plot-wise about some white-collar guy losing his job and his mind.

You should watch God Bless America.

Anyone who wishes there was a Falling Down remake should watch it really. It's somewhere between Falling Down, Natural Born Killers and Super.

either jodorowsky's Potter where all the kids are nude but it's not sexual it's artistic

Or Lynch's wizards where halfway through it turns out Harry is actually his fatty cousin's dreamself that he escapes to while his fatty dad is molesting him with cakes and rubber sex toys

I do want to see Bill Murray as Dumbledore, Owen Wilson as Snape and Angelica Houston as McGonagall, however. Also the cutaway shot of a scale model of Hogwarts while the narrator describes the secret passages and staircases and stuff would make the whole film worthwhile.

Assablanca. I know it's considered a "classic" that can never be remade, but think asses nowadays are phatter than they've ever been, and that both PAWGs and slammers have a much larger pool of talent to choose from. A modern day remake would probably be a significant improvement.

The NBC sitcom Wings would make a good anime. Move it to some charter airline service in Japan, make Joe's stalker fit into some anime trope, cab driver is now Korean or Chinese.

Cheers needs to be made an anime, too.

Night Court needs to be remade into a sexy horror series about society having to deal with demonic forces in law and the 'Night Court' is the only place where they can be held accountable for their crimes in the human and demon realms. Harry Stone only got the job because they thought he was a REAL wizard and not just a guy who does card tricks and pranks.
