It may have been the relationships thread but someone quoted a Reddit post describing how a guy got fleeced by his online girlfriend that he met on Neopets who went to his house, slept with him, and then offloaded his literally millions of points or gold or whatever (an amount that would take years to accumulate at any rate) to her account and vanished

When I was in 6th grade Tamagotchi were super popular and I wanted one because my friends had them, but they were like $20+ and that was when I had to do chores to earn spending money and I would rather just not do the chores than go get a virtual pet. What I am saying is I have no idea what Neopets is but I looked it up and it's an online virtual pet and really ugly.
