How hosed up is that?! I've had some batteries in bad shape before, but this is a record. I'm not even going to buy a new battery because my laptop is 2 1/2 years old and it was cheap so it can't have much life left. Have any of you had a battery that was shittier than mine?! Other laptop battery tales? Please share!

My laptop of 5 years now just geeked the 12-cell that came with it. I get like 0% charge from it now, so I know how much that poo poo is costing.

My battery is in surprisingly good shape, 6-8 hours of media usage, it's always plugged in for the 880m to work.

One time I was going through airport security and the lady was like "sir, you need to remove your laptop from the bag," and I said "no it's a notebook," and she rolled her eyes and said "whatever kind of computer it is, it needs its own bin," and then I tried to speak really slowly so she understood that I meant it was a literal notebook full of paper and not a computer of any kind. Luckily, she didn't pull the authority double down and punish me for being objectively correct by making me get questioned and probed and stuff.

Just go on Newegg and find a reasonably-priced replacement battery. Did that for my girlfriend's Acer and it's been running like a champ. Cost me like $20 or so.

I had a battery that, at its worst, would go from 100 to 0 in less than ten minutes, sometimes even five. The charger plug would easily fall out, too, so by the time I realized it was out the laptop would already be shutting itself down. Eventually it stopped working entirely and I had some money left over to buy a replacement battery. Three months later the laptop itself began literally falling to pieces, the lid hinge broke, and the hard drive was being consumed by bad sectors; so that battery was $30 well spent
