Yeah, I think filtration lungs would do us better in more situations than armor. I'm not expecting many gun fights, but I am expecting some toxic atmosphere and poisoning by jealous rivals

Im picturing the enhancer as a) giving us more dialogue options, and b) giving Olo a method to ask us 'are you sure you want to do that?'

For the brain augment, will it give us perfect memory/recall/attention to detail? And or, will it make it instantaneous, so we have lots of time to make a decision in bullet time?

How many pods are there? Is it plausible to stretch our legs and do a walk-by of every pod? See if any are empty, dead, broken, things like that. Just a visual inspection.

Olothreutes posted:In total? Almost 8,000 of them. Just under the glitchy controller? 200. Assume a meter for each pod, thats ~5 miles. Easy walk to stretch our legs, and we can make a habit of it each time we come out of cryo.

Slaan posted:I BEG you all to consider that these are extremely minor problems. The only reason they were noticed at all is because there was nothing else happening, anywhere. Its a quirk of the ship. If things get worse then Bedia et al will wake us up so we can fix whatever is happening. On the other hand, there's no cost to doing a walk around that I'm aware of. If we get a habit of being fastidious, that's fine. Edit: Also, Cylon spotted

I just want to do a quick visual inspection of the ones that are reporting things are fine (literal walkthrough, a couple hours total), and then go more thorough on the odd one (a couple hours itself).

Others said the planet was to be invaded by twelve-foot piranha bees and still others said it was in danger of being eaten by an enormous mutant star-goat.

Speaking as enlisted , having an unnecessary but labor intensive drill oozes new officer. Reminds me of when we had a guy march his company through a blizzard around a track for 2-3 hours, while my company just stayed inside and watched. Because, its a loving blizzard. We're giving the lads a bit of extra work (check the pods), let's not present an excess of enthusiasm.
