a7m2 posted:Yes but the degree to which it's better depend on what you hated about 2 well the witcher 2 was really badly optimized (polish coding lol) but i think that what always stopped me was that it felt like it was written by a 14 year old everyone said gently caress all the time for no reason while lovely metal played and my awesome half-man half-vampire guy kicked everyones asses and hosed women this was all in like the first half hour of the game

every individual component of Witch Her 3 is terrible. The crafting sucks, the combat is bad, the skill trees are poorly designed, Dandelion needs to eat a dick, etc. but somehow, taken as a whole, it's one of the best RPGs ever made.

i am okay with cursing and women loving but i do like the cursing to be used more sparingly and the women loving to have some class

The writing in Watch or Three is not particularly good, but it's seldom very bad. Mostly, it's like, "yeah, that's something a guy would say to hire a monster exterminator, I guess."

I love playing Witcher 3, but why did they find it necessary to stick loving Magic The Gathering in it as well? Kill a monster, gently caress a whore, drink till you puke, play yu gi oh. Yeah, one of these things is not like the other. Megillah Gorilla fucked around with this message at 07:07 on Aug 27, 2016 |

If you rotate the right stick on your controller clockwise Geralt will spin his dick around in a circle, effectively performing "the windmill".

If my job was hunting monsters I would find a pastime that wasn't hunting monsters. Plus, Gwent is pretty fun. CPR is actually in the midst of making it an independent game.

The Witcher 3's writing is laudable for some fairly nerdy reasons. Particularly, and especially early on, it is an open-world game that nevertheless maintains a "theme" very well. Consistently throughout the game you run into situations where parenthood is the primary theme. A major early NPC needs you help in finding a missing child; a number of monster contracts include the monsters' young as motivation for their killings; family and bloodlines are a major narrative thread in Skellige as well as the main story; and children can live or die by your decisions. The fact that the supporting cast is remarkably likable (even Dandelion has his charms!) and I'd say the Hearts of Stone DLC quest pack is one of the best pieces of content I've ever experienced in any video game, especially an RPG like this. It's a perfect storm that should never have come together as well as it did, but at the end of the day, the Witcher 3 manages to hearken back to the very best examples of the RPG genre. I hadn't felt this attached to a cast of characters since FFIX, and the overworld design is incredible. It's a game world that manages to be fantastical and lurid without losing its subtlety. It's basically an R-rated fairy tale with a heart of gold and a dirty old man's sense of humor. It'll make you laugh and it'll make you cry, and isn't that exactly what a good piece of art should do?

I got about 25 hours into this game and realized that I was still in the first area beyond the tutorial zone with no recollection of why I needed to play hide and seek with some kids in the woods and no reason to care, so I just stopped playing.
