I for one can't wait for the artists to use their speeches and performances to tell us about their pet causes, do a provocative thing, or maybe work in oblique references to a feud. Because they're artists. They have a certain restlessness, a duty to push boundaries for the sake of their art, regardless of the consequences. We're all merely beneficiaries of their hard-won epiphanies, and by golly, I'll certainly be pointing this out at the water cooler tomorrow.
