Eh, damage was minor and we should hopefully have the apartment fully repaired by the end of September so it ain't that bad. I got a great girlfriend and I like my job. Could be worse. August still sucked though.

Holy crap. One of my blisters from the weekend before last had persisted in not healing and I couldn't figure out why. I was just prodding it when I realized there was another blister in the original blister. No wonder it's been so drat sensitive and hard to walk on. Yowch.

You can get the base white Rustoleum (house paint) tinted at Wal-Mart and yes, it will take a year to fully harden.

Thanks, hopefully it's third time lucky. It's strange that dad lived in the same house for 40 odd years, but has been moved to 4 different places during the past 12 months.

I'm dreading the day one of my parents has to be put into a care facility. Thankfully both of them are very healthy currently and have rather large nest eggs to draw upon if they need it.

So like two years ago a girl I was friends with a looooonnnnng time ago got outed as a high end escort by her former best friend. There was much embarrassment and shaming and she deleted her facebook account. I just noticed this evening that she had reactivated it and was actively posting again so I hit her up asking how she was doing and if she was still having trouble from that incident. She tells me that it sucked for a long time but 8 months ago she was retained by a "Saudi Oil Baron" and he's been paying her $10K a month plus expenses.

So I guess it can pay to be a hooker.

She IS that hot. She was absolutely stunning when I first met her and she did some modeling in college but she was actually kind of brilliant and wanted to be a psychologist. When she moved to Florida a few years ago and then posted pictures of the house she bought with a private dock out back it was like "wow, she's making insane money all of a sudden." She was clearly mortified when she was exposed but it looks like she's over it. I'd post pictures of her but I know there's at least one rear end in a top hat here who'd track her down and try to ruin my friendship with her. Thankfully her FB is pretty locked down if you haven't known her for a long time so even digging through my friend list won't do much good.

Our friends snagged a really nice house, two bedrooms, huge living room, full finished basement, generator installed for winter power hiccups, .8 acre parcel of land, sun room. huge deck, enormous sump well in case of flooding, one year old appliances, a huge shed out back at had power and water running to it, two car garage, two lane driveway that's four cars long...

For $130K. The only thing I didn't like is it being 20 minutes away, nestled in a tiny little township. It's certainly got me thinking though.
