There'd decades of automobiles that are basically small tank engines with tires. Adoption of electric cars would be pretty much instant as soon as it became an option I guess.

There wouldn't be cars as we know them because we wouldn't have rubber tires.

Without crude oil we'd basically still be an industrial era society with expensive commodities and lovely lives.

How exactly would we discover nuclear power without plastic? Checkmate.

That event happened after the discovery of petroleum and the resultant change in society though...

Nothing in Jurassic World is natural, we have always filled gaps in the genome with the DNA of other animals. And if the genetic code was pure, many of them would look quite different. But you didn't ask for reality, you asked for more teeth.

Everything is made out of oil. And stuff made out of oil is really cheap. If it wasn't for oil, most of the everyday things you use and take for granted either wouldn't exist, or would be so expensive that you wouldn't be able to afford it.

People didn't brush their teeth with a clay brush, don't be obtuse. Our modern consumerist culture and population boom can be directly attributed to cheap crude.

Cheap oil is awesome.

Look at this radio from 1930:

"With built in Ariel Tuning system with ultra high fidelity and able to pick up stations from countries around the world and Police, Air, and shipping
$188.00 "
$188 in 1930 dollars is worth $2,585.27 2016 dollars.

https://www.amazon.com/Radio-Shack-PRO-650-Desktop-Scanner/dp/B00MW9IPLS/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1473193620&sr=8-6&keywords=police+band+radio
Gets the same channels as the 1930 radio. Not the cheapest nor most expensive radio with those features.
$159.95

Not having to make everything from metal or wood has made a lot of things cheap. Being poor is probably more fun than it was 80 years ago.
