I got tired of Chrome sucking up all my battery life, so I took the plunge and tried Opera. It's way better than Chrome; OP is correct.

use edge instead.

would that be the edgelord?

also ublock isnt in the extension windows store yet (just a workaround version) and no SALR makes me really hesitant to jump to edge fully; how hard would it be to port SALR into edge and actually get it on their store page and not side-loaded?

welp. :suicide:

the extension API is not fully implemented yet, so we probably wont see them start allowing all extensions until then.

I wouldn't recommend that, but luckily edge has both adblock and adblock plus, neither of which fail to block ads or make you vote on them.

you can opt in to that if you want but you don't have to.

itt: people who like edge because they didnt live through the browser wars and so they dont know what awful poo poo microsoft is about to try to do to the internet

the browser wars was mostly autistic children promoting bad web "development" and they created the lovely web we have today. Microsoft tried to save us from this horrible future we're in.

IE's box model was correct from the start and w3c was a bunch of whiny retard babies and now everyone who isn't brain dead uses border-box which is the IE standard.

Shaggar

the only thing consistent about the w3c box model is how bad it was. thankfully everyone has grown up and abandoned it for the IE standard.

whatever way ie does it is probably correct.

Initial product development kickoff meeting:
"hey,.what should we call our product that's a vm for guarding apps fomr exploits? "
"Application Guard?"
"Sure, that's pretty basic and easy to understand. I like it"

Product beta phase:
"What should we release as the first supported application?"
"edge?"
"oh, duh. yeah. "

Later via email from higher ups to the pm:
"Hey, whats the status on Application Guard"
"its good. we're going to release Application Guard for Edge first and then we'll add more app support later"
"sounds good, i'll kick it over to marketing"

Marketing:
"hmmm, Application Guard for Edge? Who came up with that?"
"The tech guys did. "
"well, ok but I think we need to make sure people know this is part of Windows"
"ok so Windows Application Guard for Edge"
"Isnt this kind of a security application, like defender?"
:"well no, its more of a windows subsystem."
"but the user needs to know about it right?"
"not really but.."
"i think we should put it under windows defender"
"Windows Defender Application Guard for Edge?"
"Yes! perfect! All the brands and product lines clearly listed"
"you don't think its too wordy?"
"No its great!"
