The Assault Gunboat on the other hand is clearly a compromised product, it can sorta dogfight, sorta attack capital ships and the Imperial Marines insisted on that weird VTOL capability that melts the decks of their landing barges. They wanted everything, but got left with a solid long-range attacker, so more F-111 than F-35.
