art serves the critical function of communication of the human condition across space and time, so that we can understand each other. it is also important, in its more instructional forms, as a record of "things that we have tried and here's what happened afterward" so that we may make clearer choices. it is the distillation of experience into a form that is subconsciously and unconsciously resonant so that the absolutely essential information is memetically encoded into our brains.

here, in late to end-state capitalism and globalism, the most resonant art is copied and pasted, reappropriated images and phrases that are repetitive, but, as the Torah is different each year it is read, because time has moved and its meaning has now changed, so too do memes become different each time they are posted, until they either are distilled into almost perfect forms by the shaping of the crowds, or forgotten as time continues to move and their resonance is lost. the internet has produced art with many authors. the meme is the artistic representation of the zeitgeist.
