Apparently Nike is now considering moving some shoe production back to the US, because their flyknit one piece weave construction has made it so that the whole upper comes out in once piece and you just glue it to the sole, which makes cheap labor less important. The faster turnaround of manufacturing in the US could mean they are more able to respond quickly to new trends and demand.

Nikes are the dumbest thing ever to collect and if you aren't a child or at the gym/running/doing a sport you should not be wearing them. Also they are almost universally ugly.

When nike bought Cole haan, they started making really nice and comfortable low tier dress shoes. Some even had the air bubble in the heel. Pretty slick to 18 year old me. Their running shoes are ok. Too narrow in the mid foot and too either baggy or low profile in the forefoot for most people. It never got old hearing people call them "niks" dropping the long e.
