This is a thread to share links to punk bands that you think your fellow posters should check out! Like punk music? Please post some! Curious about punk music? Feel free to check out some links and ask any questions you may have.

Try to remember to label any links that you post. Writing something about the bands/songs that you post is also encouraged but not mandatory.

Disagreeing with other posters is fine, but try not to make this thread in to a slapfight about what is or isn't punk music. If someone posts a band you don't like, please consider contributing something of your own so that there's some balance.

This is meant to be a casual thread for discovering new punk bands and revisiting old favourites.

Here are some random picks to get things rolling:

Savageheads - Demo 2013 - UK82-ish Boston punks, they're fast and it rips.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4JWDo5yft8

Discharge - Why - A band so intense and idiosyncratic they spawned an ever-expanding subgenre of clones. Classic.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGq8a6burA4

Outcry - Demo 2016 - Female-fronted punk that recalls a mix of older anarcho-punk mixed with the newer school of bands like Dame.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXcnI0q0I9M

Negative Approach 7" - Brutal, hostile early 80's hardcore from Detroit. Essential.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=weGJ1kfUkkA

Pollen - Demo - Pollen are fast as gently caress, brutal noisy punk/hc. Highly recommended.

The Damned - Damned Damned Damned is a loving excellent rock 'n' roll record.

Love them or hate them, Crass had a massive influence on punk music.

I think their best album was Penis Envy. This is the opening track:
Crass - Bata Motel

I was hoping you'd come back Gutter Phoenix! As always your taste is on point, there's not a dud in that list.

I definitely posted this in the previous thread, but it was one of my top demos from last year.

Dustbin - Garbage Noize lives up to its name. Raw, ultra-noisy, lo-fi loving puuuunk.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NoujCJXAIqw

Another of my favourite releases from 2015:
Dame - Charm School - Midtempo punk that also kind of recalls Joy Division, particularly in that post-punky, "angular" riffing style. Female-fronted, with a synth, but it's punk and it owns.

I was talking to a buddy about this the other day. I'm gonna talk just a little bit about some not-so-popular albums by The Damned.

The Damned -- Music For Pleasure (1977) -- Eclipsed in popularity by Damned Damned Damned (1976) and Machine Gun Etiquette (1979), the band's second record is still a loving exhilarating, uptempo early punk rock classic. In fact, for my money Machine Gun Etiquette ain't got poo poo on this one!! Tight, catchy, and highly recommended. Listen to this album at high volume!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPrj-utwcgU

The Damned -- The Black Album (1980) -- The classic Damned sound is still here, but with more complex song structures, fancier production techniques and synth firmly entrenched in the mix. Some people say that this is a goth record, but that’s not exactly true. The Black Album is more like a pop-punk record with excursions in to psychedelic and early gothic rock affectations. I like it!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYJIm914IBo

The Damned -- Phantasmagoria (1985) -- The Damned would go for broke with the goth vibe on 1985’s divisive Phantasmagoria, and pretty much started sucking immediately after that. There's some anthemic stuff on display here, but Phantasmagoria lacks the implied velocity of the early Damned material. It's big and theatrical, though, and I still really like this album. It's not really a punk record, so I don't know why I'm telling you about it!
