I don't even give a poo poo if Kapernick had the slightest bit of ego motivating him. The guy has a position that gives him a voice and he's using it to draw attention to a major crisis. Tort's interview was one of the worst things I ever saw and my blood was loving boiling after it. Him saying it was disrespectful to military families whose lives are turned upside down by war is absurd. As opposed to the black families whose lives are turned upside down because their children are killed in their own communities. It's disrespectful to them to unquestioningly support a government that has exacerbated the existing problem of police racism by selling surplus military gear to the departments. gently caress Tortorella and frankly anyone who thinks people shouldn't be using their opportunities to speak out because of something as trivial as a goddamn sport.

Not to mention that hockey is a very expensive sport to play, so those white players tend to come from fairly affluent backgrounds and wouldn't normally even be associating with people from those disenfranchised areas like a poorer white basketball/football/baseball player might.

Or is this just a play on the fact that they can't properly pluralize leaves?

Mage_Boy posted:Just looked at the stats of this game. What is a "refusing to play" penalty? If both teams refuse to play the puck. Usually occurs if one team is on the PK and the other team just committed some kind of next touch violation, like a high stick or hand pass. It's usually a stoppage and face-off though, I didn't know it could be a penalty. Edit: There can be a penalty for refusing to start play quick enough after a stoppage. But more likely the box score guy hit the wrong button because that doesn't seem likely. Aphrodite fucked around with this message at 23:42 on Oct 2, 2016 |
