I'll admit it, I still buy the PWI 500 every year. The Apter mags are a guilty pleasure. Is PWI the only one left? Is it the only magazine or major wrestling news outlet that still treats kayfabe as (mostly) sacred? The 500 is just plain fun, pretending that one wrestler's win loss record makes them better than another one. Or checking around the 100-200 range to see which wrestlers might make the leap to the big leagues and possibly the Top 50 next year. Which crazy unknown names are padding out the bottom 50. Guys that are wrestling for 20 people in a barbed wire match for $25 a night. Which grizzled veterans are lurking near the bottom, too proud or stupid to hang up their boots. Which unknown in the 400s is going to shoot up into the Top 50 in five years. I know PWI basically jerked itself off with "this list will make you mad!!!!!!" bullshit this year and whatever but I take more issue with EC3 or loving Sheamus being above Kenny Omega than anything else. What the gently caress did Sheamus do this year???
