Howdy, Trad Game goons who enjoy playing this dead bad game or would like to start a bad habit! I'm recruiting for an already running game of Exalted 3e due to losing a couple of players. We've got slots open for the Dawn, Eclipse, and Zenith castes. The Basics We play at 2pm-6pm EST, on Roll20 on Saturdays. House Rules -Your character starts at Essence 2. Use the rules for experienced Solars on page 126 of the book when making a character. -Instead of XP, we're using BP costs for everything. The first 3 ranks of any Ability cost only 1 dot per rank, regardless of whether or not it is Caste/Favored. As a rule of thumb, 1 BP = 2 XP. -No training times. I do ask that you not buy stuff in the middle of combat or intense negotiations, but otherwise knock yourself out. -There is no Martial Artist merit; you can buy ranks in different martial arts directly. -Melee weapons have the following base stats: * Light: +4 accuracy, +7 damage, Overwhelming 2 * Medium: +2 accuracy, +9 damage, +1 Parry, Overwhelming 1 * Heavy: +1 accuracy, +12 damage, Overwhelming 3 * Artifact: +1 accuracy, +3 damage, +2 Overwhelming on top of a weapon's base stats Once you're done with making an Essence 2 character, give yourself 45 BP/29 SBP (which bumps you up to Essence 3), so that you might put yourself on equal footing with the other players (don't spend it on story merits, of course; anything else is fine). The Other Players zeal plays the Master Artificer and Twilight Caste Yalsha. Yalsha was adopted by a Cinder Coast Scavenger Lord, along with his brother, Pratan. Yalsha and Pratan both worked on repairing First Age tech for their mother until one day, nomads captured Pratan and slew their mother. Yalsha, wounded but not yet dead, made his way to Redmoon. There, he Exalted by cleverly winning a martial tournament with a repaired First Age machine, gaining the post of Vizier in Redmoon. He kept this cushy job until, one day, his brother returned, leading the nomads who captured him in a violent conquest of Redmoon. Yalsha barely escaped with his life, and now roams the West on his ship/craft school the Bright Voyage, biding his time until he can take vengeance on his brother. Yalsha is a Supernal Craftsman, and is no slouch at Occultism and Warfare. TheLovablePlutonis plays a hedonistic Night Caste named Nihl. Nihl used to be a simple mortal noble by the name of Kasai, who lived a dull life of safety and indolence on the Blessed Isle with his House's allowance, waiting for his boring arranged marriage with a Dragon-blood, Mnemon Seyrin, until suddenly being gifted with a Night Caste Exaltation. Now able to assert himself, Kasai's first act was spectacularly ending his marriage and using a charm to wipe himself from the minds of everyone who had knew him. Now, Nihl plays a game of cat-and-mouse with the Realm and his ex-wife, now a Wyld Hunter constantly harrying him, as a way of entertaining himself. Nihl's Stealth is Supernal, and his Archery and Awareness makes him a valuable asset in a fight. The Story Thus Far A few months before the events of the game, an island chain, previously thought to be long destroyed by the Prince Balor's Faerie Host, reappeared in Creation, southwest of Skullstone Archipelago. Our plucky Circle-to-be got wind of this and decided to be the first to claim the Isles. On the first isle, they found a large amount of escaped slaves, freed by a successful insurrection led by a soldier of the Bull of the North, Hjalti Redmane, and a deserter of the Realm's Legions and lucky recipient of a Lunar Exaltation, Rain Flower. Being generous, the Circle created real weapons for the group and decided to take the fight to the remaining raksha, who were erased from Creation. Afterwards, the survivors were resettled in a nice coastal town by the rather unassuming name of "Kindtown." After making friends with the God of Crucible Island, Master Hao, whose home manse was so rudely desecrated by the Fae, the Circle discovered the existence of the Sidereals from him, and were set up with a Gold Faction mentor by the name of Ulfeidr, a Chosen of Serenity. Ulfeidr informs the party that they are not the first to be on the island chain; on an island to the northwest, known as Decima, the Second Circle Demon Octavian had managed to slip free of his bonds and enter Creation. Forming a great army, he attempted to seize an abandoned manse on the island, only to be contest by a Host of Fair Folk also trying to be the first. With the aid of the Convention of Water (led by the surprisingly practical Bronze Faction prodigy Righteous Tsunami) and a small Circle of Lunars with whom Rain Flower had met, the Solars met Octavian and the raksha, slaying both in a glorious rout. Claiming the manse, a prison complex named the Wordless Yew, for themselves, the Solars returned the favor to the Sidereals by solving two cases for them in the Heavenly City of Yu-Shan; retaking a stolen Exigence from the God of Blackmail (revealed to be possessed by the Ebon Dragon) and stopping a pair of Lunar serial killers from murdering Sidereal rookies whose past lives had allegedly killed their master, King Sha'a Oka of the Caul (who keeps returning after being confirmed dead, for some funny reason). After a mostly pleasant trip to Yu-Shan (which yielded many fruits such as a Dragon King cook joining the Solars, being named Consultants of the Bureau of Secrets, and gaining the absurdly powerful & absurdly broken sword of Nihl's First Age past life), the Circle returns to Creation and begins to ready themselves for the real conflict brewing in the West. Pratan, Yalsha's brother, has been given some foul Exaltation by the Yozis, the Demon Kings of Hell, and is using his newfound gifts and fellow Infernal Exalts to lay waste to the Southwest, only being slowed by a clever Realm admiral and secret Sidereal support at the port city of Lathe. The Circle aims to intervene in this conflict and hopefully stop this heretic from ruining Creation even further. SunAndSpring fucked around with this message at 03:23 on Nov 6, 2016 |

I would be very interested in this, although as a dirty Euro I'll have to work out the exact times. I've played exalted 2e a fair bit, but not dabbled in 3e. Are there still openings?

we've had a few close shaves like that with only two solars. plut and me are both playing ranged characters too, so anybody competent at close range would be a plus

While I don't wanna pressure y'all too much, the party really needs a talkative type. zeal's a nerd and plutonis is a murderhobo.

SunAndSpring posted:Well if you can make it on time, everything looks fine enough. rad, I'll set an alarm and get some coffee ready. Updated complete sheet, more thematically and mechanically tight: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6L2ZvIpEfQhNUx3YnVuU1lxNmc/view?usp=sharing Should probably provide some backstory as well: quote:A troupe of artists, enslaved and sent as tribute to the Realm by a Satrap unable or unwilling to maintain her conventional tax base, was lost at sea in a mighty storm. Their ship broke apart, and all were taken by the cruel gods of the sea bar one. The young dancer survived storm, near drowning, and sharks, clinging to life on a raft of flotsam. On the third day after the storm she lay parched with thirst yet surrounded by cruel water, the Sun bearing down without respite as she contemplated her fate. Should she cast herself into the waves and let the ocean have the last word? It would be a quicker end than going mad from drinking the salt, and if a shark made a meal of her that would be...not just, but not a waste. "No." The voice was stern, fatherly, and impossibly loud. No speaker was visible, but the dancer seemed to think the words were coming from the noon Sun as it glowed brighter and hotter than she could ever remember. "This is not your time to die. You will carry my word from the ocean to the land, from beasts to men, from village to city. Quietly at first, little more than a whisper. But when you find your strength, my child, you will ROAR." The voice was gone, leaving the dancer in silence. She no longer felt her hunger, or thirst, or the cracking of her brine-crusted skin. She could sit up, and when she did she saw an island to the south. Strength returned to her limbs, and she leaped from the raft that had sheltered her - not to die, but to swim. The sharks kept away, sensing that she was no longer an easy meal. The island was wild, and you would be forgiven for not expecting a soft, beautiful creature to survive in such an environment. You would of course be wrong. She lives, thrives, and eventually is able to board a passing vessel. Panicked reports from regional governments and the Imperial intelligence services begin to speak of a Blasphemous Anathema who wields a spear of burning light and unimpeachable rhetoric with equal ease, whose war-dance terrifies the cruel and greedy while bringing hope to the lost.
