It was a thing you could do in the earlier games, but it had the problem of narrowing what your party was capable of (ESPECIALLY in EO1.) Subclassing in EO3 and 4 kind of alleviated that issue, and I imagine specializations in EOV might differentiate some of the classes enough to get around it entirely?

There are also firsts in the series - actual undead. It was always interesting to me how EO was always fighting creatures and animals. This is the first time you fight things like skeletons!
