Perhaps you have not met October Kershaw. He's not good against NL Central third basemen.

Also a reminder that when people talk about Kershaw struggling in October, it's really just against the Cardinals. The Cardinals have his number for some reason.

2013 NLCS game 1 he was fine, too. He just ran into Michael Wacha before he reverted to human form. Kershaw's real problem is that Mattingly and now Roberts know how good he is and how bad their bullpen is. They always leave him in past 100 pitches in the 7th and he gets lit up when he should have been pulled two batters earlier.

Of course I won't be too upset if we lose this series to the Dodgers - it's hard to compete against a team that spent more than $100 million more on payroll than the Cubs.

Just a reminder, when Cardinals sportswriter (and posters) said this in 13 and 14 they were mocked incessantly for it.

And yeah, only 31 pitches through three, so he's gonna go 7 or 8 I bet.

Hope for this, Cubs fans. I have said it before, I will say it again: The 7th inning is October Kershaw's kryptonite.

they also let him throw 110 pitches on 3 days rest in Game 4

He is going to pitch until he's gassed

He'll pitch until, at a minimum, the tying run is on second and the go-ahead run is on first. He will then be pulled and the bullpen will let them score. Time is a flat circle.
