Yeah, I haven't spent money on this game the last month, and even though I've got more spending money, I feel horrible for pausing my whaling ways. It'll be especially hard when the patch hits and I won't have enough crystals for the deluxe pack. Might have to break my own rules for not spending any cash I don't absolutely have to spend (i.e. gas for the car, bills, and rent).

I've bought Stark's Stash (what $3.99?) three times and that's all the money I've spent on the game in over a year of playing. Even then that was more out of impatience. The paywalled characters are good but certainly not necessary.

Magneto is required to unlock Jean. All 5 need to be T2ed to get Jean.  Other than that, all the others are apparently farmable from the epic quest missions. You can't use bio selectors on them, but you can use tickets. So it doesn't cost anything if you save up crystals. We don't know the crystal cost yet.

2600 crystals is my guess. I don't have a huge X-men boner unlike you lot, but Jean looks so good on paper I need her ASAP. Haven't spend any money other than Starks Stash and a bio sub since December but I might be tempted by her.
