Very nice. Ubisoft knows exactly who to cater their games toward, I guess.

When I leveled my first char I had some stretches where I felt kinda underpowered, mostly due to bad luck with drops. Just compare what you can craft with the damage of your current gun.

It's worth it, if it's a significant upgrade. Don't worry about the materials, with patch 1.4 you get way more high-end mats than before, so don't bother saving on the road to 30.

Thanks man. I guess I'll be on the look out for another lmg to use. It is a long video but even following just the beginning stuff of getting the 4k and 5k numbers set did a lot for my dps. Going to watch it a bit more in depth and fine tune. This game has a big of information overload at points.

Not only does this game need a bigger stash, it needs a custom loadout creator. I've got my current builds (three, all just with stuff acquired since last tuesday) all scrawled on looseleaf. I'm gonna have what looks like the notebook from Se7en soon enough because of this dumb game.

As someone who plays this game 95% solo PvE, I got upgrades near instantly, as most everyone would because talents and stat formulas got switched around. Whereas it was a rare, squeal-worthy joy when I saw a max-level gear set item dropping from something that wasn't a Challenging/Heroic underground or DZ run...All I had to do post 1.4 was walk a few blocks from the Base of Operations to the next nearest safehouse to the north east. I'm not kidding you. Got 3 within a half hour of just strutting around doing gently caress all.

Hell, I'd advise you to jump on because I'm sure they're going to nerf drop rates soon enough, but I'm digging it and I can't see how you can avoid good loot being dropped.

As a Season pass owner, it's nice but matchmaking up with randoms can take a long time ( some folks like to solo Challenging Difficulty but I'd rather breeze through it in a group ), but it's not necessary for loot progression at all.

With a single character just pick your three sets as favourite, keep em on you and swap em around as needed ( it doesn't take that long as long as you aren't under fire - and sure it takes extra space ), but I'm extra lazy and have stopped doing that. What I am doing is now farming sets for my alts ( specifically Fire Crest & AB with savage gloves and specialised packs ) so they have a dedicated role ( but even then I'm pretty happy with my current set ).

Do all of the skins that exclusively dropped from challenge mode missions still exclusively drop them in 1.4?

Looking to get a few that I never got previously (Pink, Red White & Blue) but I don't want to go running those if there is a random chance of getting them now.

Yes, you have to get the pink skin from Larae in Lexington Event Center, and the red/blue stripes from Hornet in Russian Consulate. I'm pretty sure you need to be playing on challenging mode, too. When it comes to the serpent skins from the HVT bosses, I don't know if there's a rhyme or reason to who drops what.

The weekly vendor reddit post isn't happening anymore for some reason (or just being pushed away due to all the over-posting going on thanks to 1.4) and I was wondering where I'm supposed to get the best blueprints for weapon attachments and stat/performance mods.

I ask because I've read people saying you're supposed to find the level 33 blueprints in the DZ (I haven't seen one ever) and all the ones in the Terminal HUB are level 30. Do level 33 attachments and mods exist still and was I just reading something old?

The terminal hub special blueprint vendor is definitely selling level 33 Stamina & Firearms blueprints, as well as level 33 quick release magazine and osprey suppressor blueprints ( look at the power level on the stat card for the blueprint ). The DZ safehouses I just checked out are definitely short on blueprints though.

So yeah this is really pretty cool and fun loot is raining on me. I just hit world tier 4 and am getting 229 drops. Couple questsions:

I have old set bonuses but the pieces are like 182. Should I just suck it up and break some of them for 229 pieces and get the 229 set versions later? I can always throw the 182s in the stash.

Before I spend any creds on it how does weapon talent reforging work now? Does it just give me a list of talents to choose from to replace the one I pick? Or is it only one and I'm just luck of the draw out of the 30 or whatever talents there are now?

e: oh and one more thing are they saving the patch where you don't walk slow as molasses through the entrance to the base for paid DLC or what? drat.

Toss 'em. My experience is that I've had to craft 1 set piece, and eventually that was unnecessary. Any kind of semi-focused activity (Challenge missions, Underground, HVTs, respawning Nameds) will have you swimming in set items over time. I've accidentally finished most of them.

After the initial loot rush, you'll get into the slower optimization section, playing around with different builds, etc. Before that, you'll get up to 229 pretty quickly.

You spend money + birdcoins, then you get 6 choices. You can also see all the potential choices beforehand. Considering how often stuff drops, I'd recommend saving most birdcoins for vital crafting recipes. Re-rolling once, maybe twice is alright on a weapon with great rolls and 2 excellent talents, but more than that gets really expensive.

No he's right, the effect of 1.4 is that you hit gear level 228 in no time, but actually getting the right set of gear with a good set of talents is a matter of grinding away.

Right now I'm playing underground and missions because it's fun to see the content but because I'm fully geared up I'm not getting anything from it but the fun of the gameplay itself, which is okay but not as lasting as it could be.

No, he's still wrong. Although the game has always been about the grind, until now it was fundamentally broken by the gear drop rates and how gear scores worked. You could spend hours without getting gear in a slot you need, let alone an upgrade on what you had. Prior to 1.4 getting loot was not fun and for a lot of the endgame playing wasn't fun either. The game as it is now is almost feels unrecognizable from before, and in a very good way.

I've been 229 since (what felt like) a few minutes after I started playing 1.4 and am still having a ton of fun trying to collect set pieces, BiS's, and blueprints by just playing the game. Though, honestly, I've always had fun just playing the game, it's much more fun now that I don't come across super-frustrating encounters like I did pre-1.4.

Also fun? Heading into the Dark Zone with the DZ set equipped. Not losing poo poo when I die is super nice and though I have yet to try killing any rogues, I do hear that it's much more possible now.
