For what it's worth I don't think left-wingery is a good predictor of TNA fandom, at least as far as I've seen (outside of the fact that their viewership demos are heavily white, old, and male). The demented mod of TNA Mecca, for example, volunteered at the DNC.

El Gallinero Gros posted:When Paul Heyman was negotiating to come in as their head booker, did he want a % of ownership? I don't remember. I know his big booking plan was to pounce on freshly released Daniel Bryan and turn him into a killing machine who'd get superquick tapouts, win the title, leading up to either Bryan vs Joe or Bryan vs Angle (don't remember which) I don't recall ever hearing about a percentage of ownership, but he wanted rock-solid creative control to do basically what you describe.

There really is nothing, anywhere. The promotion just doesn't exist between tapings unless they're in a lawsuit or something.

RacistGuidingLight posted:From what I gather and anyone can correct me is that Sandow lost all the goodwill he somehow had after leaving the WWE and got bloated and did some bad matches in the indies shortly before landing in TNA with a stupid name, Up North promo #8932 and dumb hand to face gesture. Nope, this is completely spot-on. It also exposed the fact that there isn't, and has never been, a market for "Damien Sandow being himself". Go out there and wear a funny costume or a bathrobe or GTFO.

El Generico posted:In wrestling you're supposed to base your character on yourself turned up to 11. Aron Rex is Aron Stevens turned down to a 2, and instead of that being a base to build something on, there's just nothing else. Didn't he have like 900 gimmicks in FCW before being called up as Sandow? That should be a clue right there to just let him stick the gently caress to what he was doing that finally got over. Even in WWE, as soon as he did that "I'm not Mizdow anymore" promo he plummeted to the bottom.

It was Thanksgiving, but TNA pulled 165K viewers last Thursday, which I'm pretty sure is their lowest-rated episode ever. Remember in the Spike days when TNA was pretty much immune to holiday viewership drops? Didn't they famously get over a million viewers on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day once?
