Gay Horney posted:Khabib is going to thoroughly khabib Michael Johnson and you guys will all see!! I don't want this to sound like a "RDA was always bad" post because I don't believe that, but I don't buy the train of thought that dos Anjos has lost a step and it's all USADA's fault either. I think he's on the same spot he's been in for years, where he is very good and a problem for most fighters but also has his flaws and is beatable for most of the top 10 on a good night. He definitely turned a corner and improved over his career, but title run got turned into "one of the best of all time" because he'd been around forever in the top 10 but hadn't made it to a title yet so it seemed like he finally shot to the top, but he won the title against a guy he was tailor made to beat, and he defended the title against a guy he'd already beaten, then he got owned by Alvarez. So on that note I think he's a good win for Khabib, but we can also deduce Khabib is probably about as good as Jeremy Stephens or Clay Guida four years ago.

I just want a drat Tyron Woodley title fight in St Louis and having a fight of the night on the biggest PPV in history that warrants an immediate rematch is probably not conducive to that happening.

david carmichael posted:Well for example when people were saying it about lhw when the title went like chuck, rampage, Forrest, rashad, machida, Shogun in the span of a few years where no one defended the title (except machida once). All those guys were thought to be not good at the time except for machida who was thought to be unfuckwithable. Then machida lost on his second defense and has gone 6-6 since. Also everyone else has done worse than that. Yeah people like to say this about flyweight but in mighty mouse's title run there's only really been two fighters who shouldn't honestly have gotten there, Moraga and Cariaso. With that track record I'd argue his title reign is at least as meaningful as Anderson Silva's.

It probably would have been pretty easy to find beforehand, I just think since he disclosed it and didn't make them track him down and didn't actually get to the fight with the horrible unfair advantage of dhea there would be some mitigating circumstances. all of you geeks who have to watch training poo poo for your laboratory jobs signed up to learn about all that poo poo but all poor karate dad wanted to do is fight. if you've been fighting clean your whole life you're probably not gonna be that worried about Usada, only the cheaters have to worry about that. Hey man, I'm just here to write marketing copy. How was I supposed to know it's a fireable offense to change the dates on all of these sensitive government forms? Ah yes, Bjorn Rebney. A fine upstanding citizen who surely has no skeletons in his closet and can only be an asset to a legitimate cause. After all, Rebney's Bellator was a known bastion of fair contracts and ethical fighter treatment.

Vengarr posted:Can someone explain to me why McGregor didn't want to make a title defense at Featherweight? The two guys they've got fighting for contendership right now seemingly aren't that impressive, and they wouldn't have given Aldo an immediate rematch after getting dunked in 7 seconds...right? Seems like easy money to me. McGregor has to cut an unhealthy amount of weight to make featherweight, being the third person to hold a belt in two divisions is a big deal and adds to his marketing muscle, and current market research suggests he can still win two fights out of three against UFC lightweights so it's not like he isn't making a bunch of money at 155+ either.

Bjorn may have a bad rap from Bellator, but he's a great lawyer and union rep. He's really looking out for the little guys, from the bottom of his heart. Best promoter of all time. In fact, I bet if he had my dog somewhere right now, he wouldn't do anything bad to it, because he knows that dog is family to us and we'd be devestated. And Bjorn Rebney is a great guy, much better than Dana White. Her name is Rosy, by the way. Here's a picture of my daughter hugging Rosy, look how happy they are. We love her. Sorry I'm not crying, just really miss my dog... from this hotel...
