SPOON!
I'm setting up an old computer for a friend. She has 4 young kids (where I have none, so no experience). What software would you recommend for this situation? At least one of the kids is heavily leaning nerd (I'm thinking some learn to program type stuff for him for sure). Free office suite (What's the best these days? I'm leaning towards LibreOffice).

The Rundown:
Boy - 10 yr old loves animals, dragons, plays drums, starting to get into finding what music he likes, minecraft
Boy - 8. Science and tech nerd, inventions, video games especially minecraft
Boy - 6. BMX bikes, cars/racing, and anything Boy 10 likes (he idolizes him)
Girl - 3. animals, princesses

Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

I remember loving Logical Journey of the Zoombinis when I was 9 or 10 (fun game based around logic puzzles that don't seem like logic puzzles). It looks like they came out with a re-make of it last year for modern OSs: https://external-wiki.terc.edu/display/ZOOM/The+Game
